Olari Consulting is a boutique consulting firm specializing in supporting CPG startups in beauty, food, wellness, and specialty retail. We provide operational expertise, inventory and supply chain management, technology integration, and fractional COO services to help founders scale their businesses efficiently.

We’re looking for a freelance Supply Chain and Operations Consultant to work with us on client projects. This is a remote role. The ideal candidate brings a solid CPG client-side background, deep understanding of U.S. supply chain processes, strong technology skills, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with internal and external partners.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and optimize supply chain operations for multiple CPG clients in the U.S.

• Work with Inventory Management Systems (IMS) — experience with any IMS or ERP is a must, with implementation and integration experience strongly preferred.

• Coordinate with clients, vendors, brokers, and 3PLs to ensure accurate order processing, fulfillment, and delivery.

• Create Bills of Materials (BOM), communicate kitting requests to 3PLs, liaise with customers to receive orders, enter them into the IMS, and process them through Warehouse Management System (WMS).

• Request freight quotes from brokers and carriers, prepare and review shipping documentation (e.g., packing slips, Bills of Lading), and oversee domestic shipments; international shipping experience is a plus.

• Work extensively in spreadsheets to manage and analyze databases, calculate gross margin %, and develop forecasts.

• Integrate and streamline systems such as Shopify, Cin7, Google Workspace, QuickBooks Online or Xero.

• Leverage AI tools and automation to improve operational efficiency.

What You Bring

• 2–5 years of hands-on supply chain and operations experience within the CPG industry (client-side) in the U.S. or with U.S. company.

• Proven experience working with any IMS or ERP (Cin7 or others), especially on implementation/integration projects.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. domestic shipping documentation and processes; international shipping is a plus.

• High proficiency with spreadsheets (including formulas and absolute vs. relative references) for data analysis, forecasting, and margin calculations.

• Strong technical skills with Shopify, Google Workspace, QuickBooks Online or Xero; experience with Cin7 is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.

• A strong, proactive sense of urgency with the ability to identify, prioritize, and swiftly resolve operational or supply chain bottlenecks before they escalate.

• Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within Olari Consulting and with clients, vendors, and other external partners.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable working remotely with cross-functional teams.

• Natural curiosity for technology and eagerness to leverage AI and automation in operations.
